VCW officially congratulates the NEW Commonwealth Openweight Champion Nick Watts after a hard fought victory over Christopher Bishop at TIME FOR SOME ACTION last night. Watts becomes only the eighth man to hold the coveted title.
After the winning pinfall and being awarded the title, Watts then repetitively DDT’d the former champion and incessantly berated young children at ringside.
Doctors have confirmed that Christopher Bishop is out indefinitely and won’t be returning to VCW anytime soon, effectively ending his career.
This is the second man Watts has taken off the VCW roster beginning with Odjig Thundercloud last March, winning a Loser Leaves Town Streetfight against the First Nations Warrior.
Watts’ reign may be short lived though, as the next scheduled VCW show is the 4th anniversary and annual Ironman Rumble, where the champion has traditionally had to fight against heavy odds. It will be interesting to see how VCW handles the yearly battle royal considering that the proposed venue of Lee’s Palace is not conducive to that type of match-up.
