Ajax Commonwealth Commissioner and VCW Board of Directors at odds

This picture you see of Commonwealth Commissioner TB Doyle fighting with Goliath Ayala over the VCW title is a symbol of the struggles Doyle has faced since starting his second run in August as the boss over at the underground league.
Through it all Doyle has done a lot of good, starting with re-launching this site in September. The fact that the site was allowed to lapse and shut down was one of many curious changes made by the man Doyle took over for, Leonard Lilac.
Lilac was not a modern man and didn’t care much about the web, but he did know wrestling, and saw the Toronto market very quickly going from 1 or 2 leagues to quite a lot in a short time.
Lilac decided it was time to go on tour. He got funds from the board and booked shows in Ajax, hiring D# Entertainment and Sports to handle the promotions. The Collar and Elbow Cup was the first attempt, but with Lilac leaving and taking said funds to go on vacation, the venture was underfunded from the start. Lilac was promptly suspended and Doyle was sent by the Commission to clean up. TB arrived in time to oversee the next Ajax event, which was not advertised properly and was booked the same day as another local wrestling show.
“The entire event was chaotic” says Doyle after the show. “I felt helpless as I sat and watched Jaxon Jarvis get blinded by the Barbarians, Dr. Richard Proctor get severely injured by a rampaging Rage, Nick Watts repeatedly attacking a fallen Christopher Bishop, and their was no security booked at the event, no nothing. I had only arrived in the Province two hours prior.” The final straw came when Goliath Ayala tried to cash in his Smith Hart Super Brawl contract. Doyle ripped up the contract and forced Ayala to fight a returning Eddie Sapps, who had been concussed by the Israeli earlier in the year. “I’ll be damned if that’s happening on my first day back. I had spoken with Mr.Sapps earlier in the week and had already intended to surprise Ayala with his old friend!” commented Doyle, who got involved in the match, scuffling over the title belt with Ayala near the end of the bout and physically dragging a referee into position to count the pinfall on a downed Ayala, felled by his own brass knuckles.
Doyle also quickly took over from D# Entertainment, who had three more shows booked in Ajax including a Halloween show. Doyle moved the next show back to Toronto’s Lee’s Palace and put Ayala vs. Sapps in a Brass Knuckles on a pole match at the top of the card.
The card was well received and attendance was up but the Board was very upset over Doyle ripping up the SuperBrawl contract and disregarding its stipulations, none more so than Smith Hart himself. Coupled with the fact that Doyle had allowed the VCW Title Belt to be stolen by Nick Watts from right under his nose during the event, the board lost confidence in Doyle and in-fighting led to the board taking over booking duties.
The decision was made to continue with the existing Ajax Halloween show, but the event was plagued with reschedules, permit issues and poor advertising. As it is now, the board has decided to take leave over the holidays, cancel the November show in Ajax and return to Toronto with shows in the new year.
